1. Rui En charged with careless driving today
The 35yo actress told the courts today she intends to plead guilty. She is not represented by a lawyer and the case has been adjourned to July 1. The charge was over an accident that happened on 12 April when she reportedly knocked over a stationary motorcycle while turning into the carpark of her apartment. She may be jailed up to six months and/or fined up to S$1,000 for the offence.

Hot on those heels is the online retailer Ensogo (previously known as Deal.com.sg) has abruptly closed its Singapore operations after its Australian unit hit massive problems back home. A source familiar with the employees said,
“They were chased out of the office and the doors were locked. Employees had been sitting outside the premises since 11am.”

3. Free life and personal insurance coverage for our men!

The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) and Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will provide free life and personal insurance coverage for both full-time and operationally ready national servicemen with effect from 1st July. The scheme applies to servicemen in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).

If you’re heading for Bangkok, be sure to pack your rain gear! Heavy rain yesterday brought traffic to a standstill in some parts of the city. Some schools and businesses even had to close. Weather forecasts update that rainy seasons with more rain and thunderstorms are coming, so consider yourselves warned!
According to the Bangkok Post, the Bangkok governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra said,
“We apologize to the people affected by floods. But this problem will occur again [in the future] because Bangkok is a city of water and rain,”
