TL;DR – Bitten by wanderlust? Turn to Instagram.
Oh, how Instagram has evolved from those days when you literally upload something instantly (with a tacky filter) to what it is today where it is filled with gorgeous streams of beautifully-curated travel photos from all over the world.
If you’re like me with a serious case of wanderlust, here are my top 10 accounts to get your virtual vacay fix.
1) @chaiwalla
Allan Hinton quit his London office job, sold his possessions and now travels the world. 22 months on and his gorgeous feed is already filled with images from the Swiss mountains, Mexico, Istanbul to name a few.
2) @afarmedia
If you are exotic destinations like Denali, Guanajuato and some other places that I cannot spell nor place on the world map, then this account is for you. AFAR is all about bringing to you the most far-flung places with insider info on how to live / travel like a local.
3) @ernathan
Founder of Tiny Atlas Quarterly Magazine, Emily Nathan is a pro-photographer, mom and wife who also surfs, reads and flies.
4) @yogascapes
Combining travel with wellness, YOGASCAPES is all about featuring yoga in the most epic locations. You guys namaste while I… stay in bed.
5) @muradosmann
Even if you don’t use much Instagram, you would have seen or heard about Murad Osmann‘s popular #FollowMeTo series featuring his wife Natalia Osmann leading him to various stunning locations across the globe – they were recently in Singapore too by the way!
6) @garypeppergirl
Nicole Warne from Australia was the first digital influencer in the world to sign with IMG’s Talent Division and honestly, I’m not surprised. Her images which include cherry blossoms in Japan to the fast life in NYC and wildlife in Tasmania are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.
7) @lukeshadbolt
Photographer and fiance to Nicole Warne (#6), Luke Shadbolt‘s own Instagram account features some of the most impressive surf and travel images from around the world.
8) @natgeotravel
Maybe too mainstream for the hipsters, but seriously, no one does off-the-beaten destinations better than these National Geographic Travel guys.
9) @girleatworld
Originally from Hong Kong but now based in Singapore (Hey, homie!), Melissa Hie’s GIRL EAT WORLD feed is all about food in new places – I can’t possibly think of a better marriage.
10) @tuulavintage
Saving my personal favourite for the last, travel and style blogger Jessica Stein‘s Instagram feed is a constant reminder of all the bucket list trips we need to take.
