We love our local dishes but why stop at good when we can make them better? Here are some coveted mouth-watering concoctions so perfectly paired they take #foodporn to a whole new level!

1) Murtaburger


What is it? Murtabak-meets-burger, this murtabak is filled with a lamb patty, stuffed with mozzarella cheese and topped with their specially-created chilli/ mayo sauce.

What is it? Crispy prata topped with turkey ham, thousand island sauce, poached egg and a special Indian hollandaise sauce made with masala curry – this is like Eggs Benedict, only better!

What is it? Your traditional peng kueh (glutinous rice cakes) and soon kueh (turnip dumplings) chopped up and fried with eggs, carrot cake style. This stall also serves up a mean fried gu chai kueh (garlic chives dumplings)!

4) Sea Salt Gula Melaka Ice Cream


What is it? Anything gula melaka is always good BUT when served soft serve style (the texture is divine!), with slight saltiness and atop their famed eggy waffles – it is absolute HEAVEN.

5) Chilli Crab Linguine


Generous chunks of crab meat cooked Arrabiata style with our local favourite chilli crab sauce? Mmmm!

6) Salted Egg Yolk Donuts


I think we should know by now that we Singaporeans have something for all things salted egg. These Liu Sha Bao donuts from MAY MAY oozes sweet and salty custard and are too good to be missed. Note: Only available during lunch.

7) Chilli Crab Ice Cream


I know it sounds weird but the Labyrinth chilli crab which is essentially chilli crab ice cream served with tempura soft shell crab and sturgeon caviar at Restaurant Labyrinth has been the talk of the town since it opened its doors in 2014!

8) Durian Mango Shaved Ice


Ice kachang meets Bingsu given a hipster take, this original dessert of mango cubes and condensed milk on shaved ice and topped with a generous scoop of frozen durian puree sounds like a perfect treat IN THIS WEATHER!
