70 year-old Daljinder Kaur from the state of Haryana in India just gave birth to her firstborn after two years of IVF treatment. She and her 79 year-old husband, Mohinder Singh Gill, have been married for 46 years and have always hoped for a child, especially in a country where infertility can be seen as a curse.

3) NTUC Announces Formation of National Private Hire Vehicles Association

After all the Uber and Grab talk that has been going on in the past weeks, the Labour Movement has launched an industry association launched to protect interests of some 6,000 to 8,000 full-time private hire drivers in Singapore. The National Private Hire Vehicles Association (NPHVA) was registered under the Registry of Societies (ROS) on 3 May 2016 by the NTUC Freelancers and Self-Employed (FSE) Unit and seek to ensure that Singapore’s private hire drivers are represented by a strong voice, and are assured of workplace and welfare protection.
