Yes, the much-loved family-run Buddy Hoagies Cafe and Grill that has been at the Nee Soon South Community Club for 12 years will be saying goodbye. It lost out in its bid to KFC. The People’s Association (PA) runs the CC and its spokesperson said this to Straits Times,

“The current tenant submitted a bid that was significantly lower than the eventual winner’s. The grassroots committee decided to award it to the eventual winner after taking into consideration many factors.”

By the way, have you read about the #SaveOneShotCoffee story? We hope to see our little beloved island dotted with more independent and unique business ventures, ’nuff said!

2. The frog princess says, ‘You can’t eat money.’

Chelsea Wan runs a frog farm in Jurong whose lease will not be extended by the government when it’s up, for the G intends to use the land for military training. Other farms in the area are also affected. In case you’re wondering, Miss Wan and the other farmers will be offered alternative sites for their farming activities, albeit smaller in area.

Our hearts are moved by the video too, but we think national defence is important too.

During Tom Cook’s India trip, he was asked this, “We have a lot of young viewers… if you had three key points for personal success from the chief executive officer from Apple, what would you say to our young viewers?”

Cook replied:

“Do what you love, and put your whole heart into it, and then just have fun.”
