National swimmer Joseph Schooling just won the men’s 100m butterfly event at the Longhorns Elite Invite meet in Austin, Texas, this morning (Saturday, 4 June 2016), finishing ahead of decorated Olympian Michael Phelps.
Schooling’s in Lane 3.
The 20-year-old is one of Singapore’s biggest Olympic hopes for the Aug 5-21 Rio de Janeiro Games. In the 28th SEA Games in Singapore in 2015, Schooling took part in 9 events, won first place to bag 9 golds and broke 9 Games records. Talk about overachieving.
