TL;DR – Everything you need to know, summarised for you daily at 5pm.

1. Attempted coup in Turkey left our Singapore boys stranded

An attempted coup in Istanbul and Ankara that has reportedly seen at least 90 deaths and hundreds of arrests have also left some of our very own Singaporean boys stranded at Turkey’s Antalya Airport. These boys are from Fandi Ahmad’s football academy.

Here’s a clip on the coup. Or, click here for the skinny. And oh, remember to register with MFA if you’re travelling, or if you’re in Turkey and need help.

2. Is your gym membership from California Fitness?

Just this morning, California Fitness announced that its Raffles Club is closed until further notice. Members are asked to use the facilities at Novena and Bugis.

In case you haven’t heard, California Fitness has shut all its outlets in Hong Kong earlier this week on Tuesday. More here

3. Remember Big Splash?

Yea, the 40-year-old Big Splash, where many of us have fond childhood memories of, will shut its doors when its lease with the National Parks Board (NParks) expires. More here.

4. DHL scammers caught!

So the scammers are actually physically here in Singapore?? Anyway, we wonder if these are the ‘original’ scammers, or if they’re just knockoff-scammers and there’re still scammers out there, somewhere.

5. Everyone loves Ruby Rose!
