1) PM will be on MC till 29 August 2016
This is the latest update from the Prime Minister’s Office,
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong underwent a series of checks at Singapore General Hospital last night and this morning. The Prime Minister had taken ill during the National Day Rally due to a temporary drop in blood pressure, due to prolonged standing, exhaustion, and dehydration. Doctors have confirmed there were no cardiac abnormalities and no stroke.
On the advice of doctors, the Prime Minister will be on medical leave and will resume his duties on Monday 29 August 2016. Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean will cover the duties of the Prime Minister in his absence.

2) Guy jailed 5 years for killing 5-year-old son
Remember the d’Leedon murder? Belgian Banker Philippe Marcel Guy Graffart, 42, had pleaded guilty to killing his his five-year-old son amid a bitter custody battle with his estranged French wife and jailed five years.
3) Going from failing his PSLE to become NUS Master’s graduate
Mr Zhang Zhirong was from the EM3 stream in primary school and scored 105 for his PSLE which meant he qualified only for the Normal Technical stream in secondary school. Today, he holds a Master of Architecture degree from the National University of Singapore. Rest of his inspiring story here.
4) Singaporean reported missing after entering Malaysia via Second Link
Mr Ow Xie En Nathan, 25 entered Malaysia via the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link in Gelang Patah on Aug 15 has been reported missing. According to Malaysian media, he entered the country at around 11am and had not been heard from since.
5) Backstreet Boys and NSync founder dies
Founder of the bestselling boy bands Backstreet Boys and NSync, Lou Pearlman, died in prison at the age of 62.
He was jailed for 25 years in 2008 over a massive $300m (£153m) Ponzi fraud scheme.
