TL;DR – Who’s who?

The Prime Minister Office announced today Apr 27 some changes to Cabinet and other  political appointments.

Here’s the cheat sheet:

Josephine Teo

Mrs Josephine Teo will be promoted to full Minister and will be appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, and Second Minister in the Ministry of Manpower. She will continue in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Second Minister and will continue to oversee population matters, assisting Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean.

Desmond Lee

Mr Desmond Lee will also be promoted to full Minister and appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office. He will be Second Minister in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development, his present ministries.

Lam Pin Min

via

Dr Lam Pin Min will be promoted to Senior Minister of State. He will continue in the Ministry of Health and will also be appointed as Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Transport.

Koh Poh Koon

via

Dr Koh Poh Koon will be promoted to Senior Minister of State and will continue in the Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Janil Puthucheary

Dr Janil Puthucheary will be promoted to Senior Minister of State and will continue in the Ministry of Communications and Information and Ministry of Education

Chee Hong Tat

Mr Chee Hong Tat will be promoted to Senior Minister of State and will continue in the Ministry of Communications and Information and Ministry of Health.

Low Yen Ling

via

Ms Low Yen Ling will be promoted to Senior Parliamentary Secretary and will continue in the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Trade and Industry. She is also the Mayor of South West CDC.

Muhammad Faishal bin Ibrahim

Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal bin Ibrahim will also be promoted to Senior Parliamentary Secretary. He will continue in the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Social and Family Development.

Sam Tan Chin Siong

Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong will be appointed as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He will continue as Minister of State in the Ministry of Manpower and in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Amrin Amin

Mr Amrin Amin will be appointed as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Health.  He will continue as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Teo Ser Luck

The Prime Minister has accepted Mr Teo’s request to step down from public office to return  to the private sector.  He will relinquish his appointment as Minister of State for Manpower on 30 June 2017 and as Mayor of North East CDC when his current term ends on 26 May 2017. Mr Teo will continue serving the residents of Sengkang Central division as a Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris‐ Punggol GRC.

Desmond Choo

The Director of Industry Transformation and Productivity and concurrent Director of Youth Development at NTUC and current MP for Tampines GRC will be appointed as Mayor of North East CDC.

Dr Maliki Osman, Dr Teo Ho Pin, Ms Denise Phua and Ms Low Yen Ling will be reappointed as mayors, and Ms Low Yen Ling will be appointed as coordinator for the CDCs.
