TL;DR – We can’t wait!

From Jay Chou to Imagine Dragons and One OK Rock, you may have seen your news feeds flooded with pictures and videos of various concerts this month and this is just the beginning! Be prepared for a wave of concerts this year ranging across various genres. These are just some concerts happening in the first half of this year, who knows who else will be coming to Singapore in 2018?

1. Incubus
Incubus Singapore 2018

Incubus is set to return to Singapore next month, after its previous concerts here in 2008 and 2015. A forerunner in the rock industry for the past 25 years, it is incredible that Incubus is coming in tops for top Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs today. From the funky sounds in their earlier days to more refined, electronic alternative beats today, Incubus fans have seen their sound evolve throughout the years. The band is touring the world with their eighth album, 8, which is also their first album in six years.

2. Fifth Harmony
Fifth Harmony Singapore 2018

This fierce pop girl group started from The X Factor back in 2012 and since then, they have released three albums – Reflection, 7/27 and Fifth Harmony – all of which reached the Top 5 in the Billboard album charts. Some of their pop hits like Work From Home and Work It have as many as 1.7 and 1.4 billion views respectively on YouTube. This Singapore show is only one of two stops in Southeast Asia for Fifth Harmony, with the other in Manila.

3. Katy Perry
Katy Perry Singapore 2018

Best known for her sunny-pop hits Teenage Dream, I Kissed A Girl, Firework and Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), a lot has changed since Katy Perry’s first shot to fame in the late 2000s. But her charisma, sex appeal and heaps of talent have allowed her to remain in the business with her lead single, Chained To The Rhythm of her fourth studio album, WITNESS achieving over 1 billion streams worldwide!

4. The Script
The Script Singapore 2018

With a unique blend of contemporary pop/rock and R&B, The Script has been known for their singalong tracks like Breakeven, For The First Time and The Man That Cant Be Moved. After a two year hiatus, these Irish lads are back with a drastically different style. While some may not enjoy their revamped sound, the tracks from Freedom Child are undeniably nice to bop to. Don’t miss their one night only performance!

5. Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy Singapore 2018

Dubbed as one of the biggest emo punk bands in the mid-2000s, Fall Out Boy used to get the crowds screaming to their heavy-yet-melodic tracks. 15 years later, they have still maintained their status as one of the biggest rock bands on the planet. Similar to many rock bands today, their sound has radically shifted towards heavily produced electronic sounds and no longer are their tracks symbols of lyrical depression and angst. While some fans may be unimpressed by their latest discography, I kinda like their new, raucous feel-good music.

6. James Blunt
James Blunt Singapore 2018

There will always be some songs that stick with you, no matter the number of years. You guessed it – Blunt’s epic You’re Beautiful tune still plays in our head and it is no surprise that the smash hit went on to sell over 11m copies, making it the best-selling British album of the 2000s. But it was only until last year, almost 17 years later, that the UK singer-songwriter revealed it is actually not a romantic song at all! We’re pleasantly surprised James Blunt’s popularity has endured all these years and will be patiently waiting to hear his melodic voice live.

7. Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars 2018

Four years after the multi-Grammy winner played to a 11,000 strong crowd in Singapore Indoor Stadium, Bruno Mars will be back in Singapore in support of his latest album, 24K Magic. Mars is known to be a full-blown entertainer with his effortless vocals, sexy dance moves and diverse mix of reggae, rock, hip hop, and R&B. After an overwhelming response for the first show on 6 May, a second show on 7 May was added and within 3.5 hours, all 22,000 tickets to both nights were snapped up. Whether upbeat, smash hits or slow numbers, Mars will have you dancing and screaming at the top of your lungs from start to finish. We’re SO excited!

8. Harry Styles
Harry Styles Singapore 2018

Call it the boy band effect, but it is getting so common for individual members to go their separate ways and ‘focus on themselves’. Harry Styles has shed his boyband innocence from his One Direction days and emerged as the young classic rocker of the bunch. After his first solo sold-out show at The Star Theatre last November, he is returning to Singapore and on a bigger stage at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. We’re looking forward eagerly to admiring this heartthrob and his sexy crooning voice.

9. Niall Horan

The Irish singer-songwriter first came to Singapore for a secret showcase for media and fans last year but this time, he’s back for a full show. The Flicker World Tour, which was sold out in minutes, is part of Horan’s global tour to promote his debut solo album. This Singapore stop is part of his Asia leg aside from Tokyo and Manila. At this point where One Direction have been broken up long enough, we’re beginning to see what each member of the former mainstream reigning boy band is bringing to the table in his solo career. Little do many know that Niall Horan is actually the first member of One Direction to top Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs with Slow Hands. Niall’s crooning voice is impeccable and steers closest to the sound of his former group, with his soft-pop, sleek sounds. Comparative to Ed Sheeran, Horan shows an unpretentious and gentle side through his heartfelt renditions, which work wonders with the ladies and young girls.

10. Celine Dion
Celine Dion Singapore 2018

Then we have Celine Dion. For the first time ever, we will warmly welcome the world-renowned French-Canadian singer to Singapore. This will not only be Dion’s first-ever performance in Singapore, it also marks her visit back to Asia since her last tour in 2008. The multi-Grammy award winner is a seasoned live performer who has staged over thousands of shows since the 1990s with her powerful ballads like Because You Loved Me, My Heart Will Go On and The Power of Love. She is the one of the highest-earning artists in history with almost 250 million albums sold throughout her career spanning more than 3 decades. We are definitely anticipating sold-out shows here!
