TL;DR – Do or donut?

Haritts Donuts and Coffee from Tokyo, Japan, sells some really good – you guessed it – donuts and coffee and they are now available in Singapore.

Haritts Chocolate Donut

Unlike the typical American-style donuts (think Krispy Kreme) that we are used to, the handmade donuts here are chewier and less sweet. The Haritts Chocolate Donut, for example, uses quality 64% dark chocolate and is the perfect cross between sweet and bitter. I’m not sure if they are healthier, but they certainly taste lighter and feel less sinful.

Matcha White Chocolate with Apricot Donut

Only 300 donuts are available daily and they are priced from $1.90 – $3.20, depending on the flavour. Flavours available include matcha, earl grey, cream cheese, raspberry white choco and a Singapore-inspired kaya donut.

Haritts started in 2004 as a mobile van serving coffee and donuts in Tokyo and its store in Singapore at Havelock Road feels more like a friendly takeaway kiosk than a cafe. You are strongly advised to reach before 5.30pm to avoid disappointment!
