Does Halloween creep the living lights out of you? Sometimes I can’t understand why we pay good money to scare ourselves when 51 missed calls from your Mom will probably achieve the same effect but if you’re into this scare fest tradition, then here are some places you should check out soon.
1) Cathay Horror Haunt – The Curse of Amityville
Happening 18-21 October at Cathay Cineleisure and 25-28 October at The Cathay, you can be prepared to have the fright of your life. Featuring Hollywood’s most sinister and terrifying characters based on the infamous real-life Amityville horror house, this maze is definitely not for the fainthearted. To enter the iconic house, simply present a same-day receipt with a minimum spending of $5 from Cathay Mall or a ticket stub from Cathay Cineplexes. Alternatively, you can pay $10 to enter the horror grounds.
The first 80 people per day who can miraculously escape and survive The Curse of Amityville will win gift vouchers from merchants of Cathay Malls.
2) Halloween Horror Nights 8
Notice how nights is appended with ‘s’? Well, you are going to have nightmares for many many nights for sure. With 5 haunted houses as well as 5 scare zones, be prepared to scream your lungs out as trained scarers might pounce on you anytime. For laser tag enthusiasts, there is also a Zombie Laser Tag at one of the scare zones.

3) ACM After Dark
This gives a whole new meaning to Night at the Museum. At the Asian Civilisation Museum’s well-loved annual Halloween event, you can be sure to awake the elements in you! Do you believe in supernatural beliefs and ancient traditions? What if I tell you that they may be linked to the Elements of Earth, Wind, Water and Fire? On this family-free evening, you will be spooked by thrilling performances, a movie screening, paranormal talks, and fiery activities! The best part? Admission is free.
4 )Kidzania – SpookyTown: The Lost Carnival
Something for the kids!
Dr SpookZ, the town’s famous alchemist caused a mysterious explosion years ago at SpookyTown’s annual Carnival. Everyone in the once-bustling town vanished except SpookyTown’s Mayor Fabiola. Rumour has it you can still hear carnival music from The Lost Carnival if you listen carefully.
Are you a brave soul? Because Fabiola, SpookyTown’s Mayor, is desperate to find her citizens back and is recruiting brave souls to help uncover the truth of their disappearance and solve the mystery of The Lost Carnival.
