Disney has just released the teaser trailer for the live action remake of The Lion King.
The 92-second teaser is currently #1 trending on YouTube and is a visual feast as we get to see the animals as well as the landscape of the African Sahara.
The live action remake which will be released on 19 July 2019 has some big-name stars attached to it.
James Earl Jones reprises his role voicing King Mufasa, grooming his son Simba (Donald Glover) to follow in his footsteps. Also featured in the voiceovers are Beyonce (Nala), Chiwete Ejiofor (Scar), Keegan-Michael Key (Banzai), John Oliver (Zazu), Seth Rogen (Pumba) and Billy Eichner (Timon).
Directed by Jon Favreau, the story sticks very closely to the 1994 animated classic and the trailer kickstarts with the iconic scene of Simba being presented to the animals from atop Pride Rock.
