TL;DR – No heavy metal also.

Last week, we wrote that popular Taiwanese bubble tea chain Tiger Sugar supposedly uses colouring for their drinks.

Local franchisee Clover Lifestyle has since clarified that “a new formula for the drinks had been implemented since July 2018” and that this new formula does not contain any “added colouring matter” .

It is said that Clover Lifestyle’s managing director, Trevor Fong, stressed that the brown sugar syrup currently used in Tiger Sugar’s outlets in Singapore has undergone testing by the Agi-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), and had even shown a report to AsiaOne clarifying that the syrup does not contain any “added colouring matter” nor heavy metal.

The brand currently has three stores in Singapore at Capitol Piazza, Chinatown Point and Paragon.
