Taco Bell is now available in Bangkok

TL;DR – You can make Taco Tuesday happen in Thailand.

Once upon a time, there was Taco Bell in Singapore.

The American fast-food chain serves up Tex-Mex foods such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas and nachos that somehow weren’t very popular with Singaporeans and the first outlet which opened in the former Funan DigitaLife Mall in 1999 eventually closed in 2008.

(In fact, there is a whole Quora thread dedicated to discussing why the brand failed in Singapore.)

But if you are an ’90s kid or just someone who wishes that the fast food restaurant will return to Singapore, the good news is you can now get your Taco Bell fix in two hours.

(Technically that is only the travel time from Pasir Ris to Jurong at 8am on a weekday.)

The brand has recently expanded to Thailand, with the first outlet opening on Thursday 24 January in Bangkok at Mercury Ville near Chitlom BTS Station.

According to reports, the chain will introduce new items with local flavors including an extra-spicy sauce and will offer adapted menu items and serve Thai beers Singha and Chang as well as Philippines beer San Miguel Light.

And if they continue to pack in the crowds like they did on opening day, then it looks like Taco Bell Thailand will have a much better fate than Singapore’s.

Here’s the address if you wanna lend them your support:
