Temasek Foundation Oximeter

TL;DR – Each household in Singapore can collect one from 300 supermarkets and pharmacy outlets.

The Temasek Foundation will be giving each household in Singapore a free oximeter so that residents can monitor their blood oxygen levels regularly.

This initiative is part of Temasek Foundation’s Stay Prepared initiative as new and more infectious Covid-19 variants emerge within the community.

The foundation stated in a press release that the Covid-19 virus can cause blood oxygen levels to drop to dangerously low levels, even when you have no other symptoms, and noted that ‘Silent pneumonia’ is one of the most serious consequences of Covid-19, where seriously ill people can feel generally well, despite damaged lungs.

As such, the oximeter checks the oxygen level in the blood and can help detect early signs of a deterioration in health.

Where and how to collect

From 5 July onwards till 5 August 2021, families can collect the free oximeter from 300 supermarkets and pharmacy outlets including NTUC FairPrice, Sheng Siong, Giant, Cold Storage, Watsons, Unity, and Guardian outlets.

To collect the free oximeter, simply bring along the Stay Prepared leaflet that will be mailed to every household by 3 July, and present it at any of the 300 supermarkets and pharmacies outlets.
