Many say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it sure doesn’t hurt to start your day with a delicious and hearty sandwich that will give you the energy to get through the day.

We share 3 recipes of gourmet sandwiches that you can whip up at home – with ingredients that are easily available from NTUC FairPrice and best of all, don’t break the bank! 

French Toast Mozzarella and Bacon Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 4 Pasar Fresh eggs 
  • ¾ cup FairPrice Full Cream Milk 
  •  ½ teaspoon FairPrice salt
  • 1 tablespoon FairPrice butter
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 4 slices of Mozzarella cheese 
  • 6 slices of FairPrice white or wholemeal bread 

Preparation: 

Step 1:  Cook bacon until crispy.

Step 2: Whisk eggs, milk and salt in a bowl and social slices of bread into the mixture, ensuring they are well coated. 

Step 3: Put a slice of cheese and 2 strips of cooked bacon in-between the mixture-soaked bread slices.

Step 4: Heat pan and grill sandwhich until both sides are golden brown. 

Herbed Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 and 1/2 sticks of FairPrice unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 6 slices of FairPrice white or wholemeal bread 
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • FairPrice salt
  • Herb mix or finely chopped parsley

Preparation: 

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.

Step 2: Melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until the butter is golden and the garlic is very fragrant, about 3 minutes.

Step 3:Brush the butter and garlic mixture evenly on the slides of bread.

Step 4: Sprinkle herbs and bake until edges of the bread are golden brown.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh Cavendish banana
  • 4 slices of FairPrice white or wholemeal bread 
  • 4 tablespoons of FairPrice peanut butter 

Preparation: 

Step 1: Peel banana and slice. Fit banana slices onto the bread. 

Step 2: Generously coat the banana slices with peanut butter.

Step 3: Grill the sandwich on a skillet over medium heat for 2 minutes each side to achieve golden brown

These sandwich recipes that make use of ingredients easily purchased at any NTUC FairPrice store will help to jazz up your breakfast menu for sure!
