TL;DR – Pay $3 to get $50?
We received this photo in our email inbox this morning,
According to the email, this is a cash vending machine that dispenses more cash (up to $50) when you put $3 into the machine. (Yeah, it kinda sounds like the famous Nigerian scam.)
The machine was spotted along Orchard Road and it appears that there was a long queue for it.
Checking out this #3dollarballer website reveals that the machine will be placed at the following locations today, 28 February:
- 28 February 2018, 12pm – 3pm: Raffles Place Green near Chevron House
- 28 February 2018, 5pm – 8pm: Between H&M near 313@Somerset and ION Orchard
The website also says that this is for real and that they will reveal who is behind this on 1 March 2018 though we also received a tip-off that it’s for a telco campaign.
