TL;DR – Hello, Polis?

A Facebook post featuring a Singapore-styled restaurant in Beijing, China has gone viral with more than 2,600 shares in just 7 hours.

The Facebook post, shared by user Arthur Pang, has garnered the attention of Singaporeans for two things, perhaps: the waitresses were dressed in iconic Singapore Airlines girl uniforms, the awful English translations in their menu.

According to the Facebook post, the restaurant is run and managed by a local Chinese in Beijing.

Despite the not-so-accurate English translation, the food served at the restaurant was “not too bad actually” said Pang, in reply to one of the comments in his post.

Designed by Pierre Balmain, a notable haute couture fashion designer in 1972, the design of the iconic SQ girl uniform has remained the same since its introduction and is one of the most recognisable uniforms in the airline industry. It definitely feels weird seeing it being worn on Chinese waitresses and being paired with sneakers, no less.
